Storehouse is focused on providing quality services to meet the needs of at risk young people, particularly in schools, the wider community and to young mums.  To effectively achieve this we partner with various other like minded organizations, such as Elevate, Activate, Urban Outreach, and corporates including Vodafone.

Together it is our aim to provide specialized programs designed to;

  • Provide services for the relief of poverty, suffering, distress, misfortune and helplessness.
  • Promote the prevention or the control of behavior that is harmful or abusive to young people.
  • Provide assistance to youth at risk of exploitation, homelessness, self-destruction or alienation from society.
  • Provide young people with positive role models.
  • Help create a greater sense of ‘connection’ and positive ‘community’ amongst young people.
  • Provide positive experiences of self and memories of adolescence among young people.
  • Help build greater ‘resilience’ in young people.

SOAR Adventures is an 18 month adventure and experiential based learning program for at-risk male young people in Victorian schools.SOAR Adventures helps students who are at-risk of being excluded from their schools, who are in conflict or crisis within their families or are suffering from depression or demoralization. The SOAR Adventures program works with the 10 most at-risk boys in each school through
weekly sessions, camps and mentoring.  The program aims to promote positive life choices and decision making amongst the participants,and to empower them to achieve their goals and potential. The team at SOAR Adventures believes that seeing the lives of troubled youth transformed is a vital part of developing strong communities in schools and families.

Young mums mentor program is a 10 week life skills program that blends parenting and life skills education with hands on practice, utilizing one on one peer support.  Each session is designed to improve personal life skills or provide knowledge that would benefit a young mum’s personal development. The sessions combine a mixture of discussion based and experiential learning activities. Guest facilitators/speakers participate in the groups together with the mum mentors, while a separate program will be run with the children allowing the mums to relax knowing their children are being taken care of.
